Crystal Palace were in emphatic form in the first division during the 1990 – 1991 season as they enjoyed their finest ever campaign in league football, finishing it off in a very strong third position under Steve Coppell as the Mark Bright and Ian Wright up front combination worked a treat through out.
The 1991 – 1992 season saw the eagles finish off in a very decent 10th position finish at the end of the season and they enjoyed a decent run in the league, only suffering defeat in the quarter finals of the competition against Nottingham Forest. They crashed out in the FA Cup fourth Round, suffering defeat against Leicester City.
The 1992 – 1993 season was the first ever premiership season and saw Crystal palace suffer relegation by the end of the campaign as they finished it off in a disappointing 20th position. They did however enjoy a fine run in the league cup that saw the eagles reach the semi finals, only suffering defeat against eventual winners, Arsenal, in the last four of the cup competition.
Crystal Palace regained their form during the 1993 – 1994 season as they finished it off as first division champions, in turn resulting in promotion straight back in to the premier league.
